WebOct 1, 2024 · The biosynthesis in C. sativa is regiospecific and only results in the formation of Δ 9-THCA-A. Δ 9-THCA binds to PPARγ with higher affinity than Δ 9-THC and displays low affinity at CB 1 and CB 2 [82, 83]. In mice treated with 3-NPA, Δ 9-THCA acts as a neuroprotective via a PPARγ-dependent pathway [83]. Conversion of THCA to THC in vivo appears to be very limited, giving it only very slight efficacy as a prodrug for THC. In receptor binding assays it is promiscuous; there are papers showing it being an inhibitor of PC-PLC, COX-1, COX-2, TRPM8, TRPV1, FAAH, NAAA, MGL, and DGLα, and an inhibitor of anandamide transport, as well as an agonist of TRPA1 and TRPV2. Many THCA reagents used in biochemistry experiments are contaminated with THC due to THCA's instability.
Synthetic pathways to tetrahydrocannabinol (THC): an overview
WebA detailed understanding of transcriptional control of THCA synthase (THCAS) is currently lacking. The primary site of cannabinoid biosynthesis is the glandular trichomes that … Webolic-acid (THCA) and cannabidiolic acid (CBDA) by non-enzymatic decarboxylation [8,9] (Fig. 1). With respect to the biosynthesis of cannabinoids, we have previously reported the identification and purification of novel enzymes, THCA syn-thase and CBDA synthase, which are specifically expressed in how are inhalants made

WebMay 24, 2024 · Cannabinoid biosynthesis is very tightly regulated due to its general toxicity. CBGA, THCA, and CBCA have been shown to induce cell death in tobacco and even in C. sativa (Sirikantaramas et al. 2005; Morimoto et al. 2007). These compounds are mainly produced in the storage cavity of the glandular trichome.
