WebOct 7, 2002 · Rawlsbury Camp submitted by JimChampion Hillfort in Dorset This hillfort on a spur of Bulbarrow Hill is roughly pear-shaped and encloses about 5 acres. It has two main banks with an intermediate ditch, with an entrance to the east. The earthworks around the entrance are interesting, and are confused by a medieval trackway which crosses them. WebRawlsbury Camp, a five acre Iron Age hill fort, is situated on a promontory of the hill. Little remains of the camp except the twin embankments and intermediate ditch which surrounded it. The hill gets its name from the several barrows that adorn the hill. Additionally, a medieval trackway crosses the ridge.
